Students interested in joining MamLuft&Co. Dance’s new Advanced Division MUST attend the placement session on Sunday, September 17:
Registration starts at 1:30pm.
Placement dance classes will run from 2:00-5:00pm.
The placement session will consist of modern technique exercises and ballet fundamentals. Students will work in the center and across the floor. They will also learn a short phrase of material. Don’t be nervous! This is not an “audition,” but it is how we will determine which group each student will dance in for the 2017-2018 school year.
About Advanced Division
MamLuft&Co. Advanced Division provides students with the opportunity to study Modern Dance in a faster-paced, more in-depth setting. As with all of our classes, ML&Co.’s Advanced Division provides quality dance technique taught by trained professionals in a supportive, encouraging environment.
- The goal of the Advanced Division is ultimately to prepare students for the study of dance in higher education.
- Advanced Division students commit to a Full Year of dance training with a Placement Session each Fall to determine which group he or she will be in throughout the year.
- Although the focus of ML&Co.’s Advanced Division is Modern Dance technique, each student is required to take Ballet Fundamentals as well as Modern Performance to support his or her training. Students take class for a total of 4 hours each week throughout the school year.
